Get NZ writing poetry

We have been exploring language through poetry this week and using colour as our inspiration. Yesterday we did a class poem about green and today we did a 15-minute poem in colour teams. We had fun changing the order of the lines to explore how the order of words can impact on the final outcome.

This is a task done in all three literacy classes, as a part of our writing this term. We will be doing a poem postcard to send to another class around NZ later this month.

Graffiti Art - names

To start the year off, we are doing name art. What better way to explore graffiti art and colour mixing. Today we have covered primary and secondary colours and how to mix colours (secondary)  using pastels.
We began step by step and I will update the blog with pictures in action (black and white) as we go.

Our backgrounds are brick walls, which are easier said than done, but I am impressed with the efforts of every child.
